MabQuest is a Swiss company developing a new kind of anti-PD-1 antibody, a checkpoint inhibitor that releases a brake on the immune system, which binds PD-1 at a different site from current drugs. It is in an early trial in advanced solid tumours.
MabQuest SA (MabQuest Therapeutics) was founded in Lausanne, Switzerland, by Giuseppe Pantaleo and Craig Fenwick of Lausanne University Hospital, according to the company, and develops allosteric anti-PD-1 antibodies intended to work alongside conventional orthosteric anti-PD-1 therapies and other checkpoint inhibitors; it also lists interests in infectious disease and allergy. Its lead candidate is MAQ-001. Its first registered cancer trial, NCT06514651, a phase 1a/1b study of intravenous MAQ-001 alone and in combination immunotherapy, including with ipilimumab, in advanced solid tumours at French sites, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in July 2024.
