V5med makes AI software that helps radiologists spot small lung nodules, possible early lung cancers, on chest CT scans.
V5med Inc. (倍智醫電), headquartered in Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, with an R&D centre in Taichung, develops AI image-reading software. Its V5-LU01 lung AI assists radiologists in detecting lung nodules on thoracic CT; a retrospective multi-reader, multi-case study compared radiologist performance with and without the software (NCT06514248), and the company reports that its lung nodule software received US FDA clearance. It also works on coronary artery imaging with Taichung Veterans General Hospital. Its first registered cancer-related study, NCT06514248, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in July 2024.
