Sapu Nano reformulates existing cancer drugs as extremely small particles that can be given into a vein. Its first product, Sapu003, is an intravenous form of the mTOR inhibitor everolimus, in an early trial in several advanced solid tumours.
Sapu Nano is a San Diego nanomedicine company whose Deciparticle platform formulates water-insoluble drugs as nanoparticles smaller than 20 nm for intravenous use; its manufacturing is done at the Sapu Bioscience GMP facility in San Diego. The website links the platform's lineage to Vuong Trieu, co-inventor of Abraxane, and a survey paper on the platform was released by Oncotelic. Its lead product Sapu003 (SAPU-003) is a weekly intravenous Deciparticle formulation of everolimus; the company says it gives full systemic exposure to both mTOR complexes and reduces gut accumulation compared with oral everolimus. The first patient was dosed in May 2026. Its first registered cancer trial, NCT07369505, a phase 1b dose-escalation study of Sapu003 alone or with exemestane in advanced mTOR-sensitive solid tumours (HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer, renal cell carcinoma, neuroendocrine tumours, tuberous sclerosis complex-associated tumours and hepatocellular carcinoma) in Adelaide, Australia, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in January 2026.
