Mercy BioAnalytics develops blood tests that look for cancer signals carried in tiny particles released by cells. Its first test, Evident, screens women after the menopause for ovarian cancer and has not been cleared by the FDA.
Mercy BioAnalytics, Inc. develops blood-based screening tests that analyse extracellular vesicles, which it describes as a stable and abundant analyte produced continuously by every cell. Its Evident ovarian cancer screening test is aimed at postmenopausal women; the test site quotes 98 per cent specificity and almost 90 per cent sensitivity for stage I and II high-grade serous ovarian cancer, states that the test was developed and validated by Mercy BioAnalytics Laboratories under CLIA and has not been cleared or approved by the FDA, and offers it through an early access programme. Its clinical laboratory announced CAP accreditation in July 2026. The registered SOARA clinical validation study (NCT07872644) plans to enrol about 1,750 average-risk women at sites in Waltham, Massachusetts, and Austin, Texas, with positive results followed by transvaginal ultrasound. Co-founder Paul Blavin is described as the sole funder, with USD 5.5 million, from inception to November 2020. Its first registered cancer study, NCT07872644, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in October 2026.
