Jubaan makes Gixam, an investigational device that photographs the tongue and uses the images to predict whether a person is likely to have bowel polyps that can turn into cancer, or bowel cancer itself. It is being tested as a pre-screening step, including in people whose stool test was negative, and is not approved anywhere.
Jubaan Ltd. develops and manufactures the Gixam system, a non-invasive pre-screening device for colorectal adenomas and colorectal cancer that analyses images of the tongue; the company also references the gut microbiome in its materials. The company states that Gixam is not approved in the United States, the EU or any other jurisdiction and is an investigational device in the United States, Israel and Europe. Its registered studies are a completed study predicting adenomatous polyps from tongue images (NCT06305364), a study in a faecal immunochemical test (FIT)-negative population (NCT06612281), a study in the Netherlands with Jubaan GmbH (NCT06688110), a second FIT-negative study of advanced and non-advanced colorectal neoplasia (NCT07623902) and a repeatability and reproducibility study (NCT07894081). Its first registered cancer study, NCT06305364, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in March 2024.
