IMGT is a South Korean company whose device aims focused ultrasound at a tumour during chemotherapy, to help the drugs get into the cancer. It is starting a large trial in pancreatic cancer that cannot yet be removed by surgery.
IMGT Co., Ltd. (아이엠지티) is a medical device company in Seongnam, South Korea, established in April 2010, according to the company. Its 'chemosono therapy' uses non-thermal, non-destructive focused ultrasound to produce cavitation that temporarily opens tumour blood vessels and cell membranes, with the aim of increasing penetration of chemotherapy into the tumour. The IMD10 system, for pancreatic cancer, began a Korean clinical trial in 2023 after an investigational device exemption from Korea's MFDS in 2022, with interim results released in April 2025; the FDA approved an investigational device exemption for IMD10 in November 2025. A second system, IMD20, received an MFDS investigational device exemption in 2023. The company listed on Korea's KONEX market in July 2023 and reports Series A to D financings, the latest in April 2025, without amounts on its website. Its first registered cancer trial, NCT07325214, a randomised, multiregional pivotal study of IMD10 with FOLFIRINOX-type chemotherapy against chemotherapy alone, with overall survival as the measure, in borderline resectable or locally advanced pancreatic cancer at US and Korean sites, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in January 2026.
