Curium is one of the largest nuclear-medicine companies, developing 177Lu-PSMA-I&T (ECLIPSE) as a competitor to Pluvicto.
Curium is a Paris-based private radiopharmaceutical group, one of the largest in nuclear medicine, supplying SPECT and PET isotopes and generators and developing 177Lu-PSMA-I&T as a competitor to Pluvicto in prostate cancer. Its ECLIPSE phase 3 trial of 177Lu-PSMA-I&T met its radiographic progression-free survival endpoint in taxane-naive metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, a Japanese registrational trial with PeptiDream and PDRadiopharma enrolled its first patient in February 2026, and the regulatory submission plan is under discussion with the FDA. In September 2026 the FDA approved Bexlutry, Curium's lutetium-177 dotatate, for adults with somatostatin receptor-positive gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumours. On 3 August 2026 Curium agreed to acquire Lantheus for 102.50 dollars a share in cash plus contingent value rights of up to 12 dollars a share, a total of up to about 8.0 billion dollars; the US Federal Trade Commission asked for more information on 21 October 2026, and the companies expect to close in the first half of 2027. OnCo links it to DOTATATE imaging agents, samarium-153 lexidronam, radionuclide generators and the therapeutic isotope supply chain. Whether a second lutetium PSMA agent can differentiate on supply and price rather than efficacy is the open question. The manufacturing cost of radioactive medicines is the bottleneck it bears on.
177Lu-PSMA-I&T is a second PSMA radioligand, chemically different from Pluvicto, that has passed two phase 3 trials on progression but has not yet shown a survival benefit.
Piflufolastat F-18 (Pylarify) is the leading PSMA PET tracer for prostate cancer, with a new formulation approved in March 2026.
The PET scan for neuroendocrine tumours that finds far more disease than older scans and confirms eligibility for lutetium radioligand therapy (the theranostic pair).
Quadramet (samarium-153 lexidronam) is a radioactive bone-seeking injection that lodges in bone metastases and irradiates them from inside, approved in 1997 to relieve pain from prostate, breast and other cancers spread to bone. Most patients get relief within one to two weeks, but marrow suppression follows at three to five weeks, and radium-223 and PSMA radioligands have largely replaced it.
