Cure51 studies people who have lived for many years with cancers that usually progress quickly, such as glioblastoma and metastatic pancreatic cancer, to find what in their biology kept the cancer in check and turn it into new drug targets.
Cure51 is a French computational biology company built around exceptional survivors: patients alive more than five years after a diagnosis of cancers such as metastatic pancreatic cancer, glioblastoma and small cell lung cancer. With a network of oncology centres that includes Gustave Roussy, Centre Léon Bérard, Charité, the European Institute of Oncology and Vall d'Hebron, it collects samples and clinical data from these survivors, looks for multimodal molecular signatures and builds a library of drug targets. Founded in March 2022 by Nicolas Wolikow and Simon Istolainen, it raised a EUR 15 million seed round in March 2024 led by Sofinnova Partners, with Hitachi Ventures, Life Extension Ventures, Xavier Niel and Olivier Pomel. In September 2026 it signed a long-term target identification partnership with Servier in glioblastoma.
