BeamWorks makes artificial intelligence software that runs alongside a breast ultrasound scan in real time and helps the doctor judge whether a lump looks suspicious. A thyroid version is also approved in Korea.
BeamWorks Inc., based in Buk-gu, Daegu, South Korea, develops on-device AI for ultrasound diagnosis under the CadAI brand. CadAI-B is real-time decision support for breast ultrasound; the company states that it has FDA 510(k) clearance, Korean MFDS Class III manufacturing approval and designation as Korea's first innovative medical device for ultrasound diagnostic support software (No. 23). CadAI-T, for thyroid ultrasound, has MFDS manufacturing approval. Its registered studies are a completed effectiveness study of CadAI-B with Severance Hospital (NCT06352684) and a completed study of CadAI-B Dx as decision support in breast ultrasound (NCT07287111). Its first registered cancer study, NCT06352684, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in April 2024.
