Aummune makes a personal medicine for each patient from short DNA-like strands chosen in the laboratory for how well they kill that patient's own tumour cells. The medicine is injected into the tumour and is also designed to wake up the immune system.
Aummune, a clinical-stage company in Tel Aviv, Israel, develops individualised tri-functional oligonucleotide drugs. Tumour cells from a patient are grown as 3D organoids and screened against an aptamer pool; the selected tumour-binding strand is joined through a CpG-rich bridge, intended to stimulate antigen-presenting cells through TLR9, to a constant strand that engages effector T cells. Its first product, AM003, was tested by intratumoural injection in a first-in-human phase 1 dose-escalation study in locally advanced and metastatic solid tumours (NCT06258330) at five Israeli sites; the registry lists it as completed with 12 participants. Its first registered cancer trial, NCT06258330, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in February 2024.
