## Summary

Myriad held the BRCA1/2 gene patents until the 2013 US Supreme Court ruling and launched BRACAnalysis CDx (2014) and myChoice CDx (2019), the two FDA-approved companion diagnostics for PARP inhibitors. MyRisk is its hereditary cancer panel; EndoPredict (breast) and Prolaris (prostate) are its prognostic tests. Its history is a case study in how gene patents, guidelines and reimbursement shape which tests patients receive. In October 2026 it agreed to sell its prenatal testing business to Labcorp for 210 million dollars in cash, with closing expected in early 2027, saying the proceeds would go to priorities tied to cancer care.
